All along the coast of northern Spain are beaches with good waves. The most famous spots are Mundaka (one of the best waves in the world, only for experts), Liencres, Natural Park of Oyambre, Rodiles and Doniños (El Ferrol). And if ever the waves are too big or the wind comes from the wrong direction, there is almost always a close alternative with good waves. The Canary Islands are also known for its good surfing conditions. You can also surf waves at Cadiz but is less reliable in the Mediterranean.

Also in France there are a number of good surf beaches. However, at most of them lack an alternative for days with bad waves and weather. Some famous beaches are for example Guétary, La Fitania, Hossegor and Lacanau. In Portugal, water temperatures rarely exceed 16 degrees. Apart from Peniche and Ericeira, where there are often many surfers there are many good beaches for surfing. There is also considerable potential for surfing in Britain: Scotland (eg Thurso), Ireland, Wales, North Devon and Cornwall especially (Newquay, St. Ives Bay, Penzance).
